Legacy in Motion

The retrospective traced the local impact of BLM Sudbury, from grassroots resistance to the creation of vibrant Black cultural spaces, highlighting the contributions of creatives and organizers shaping the social and political landscape of Northern Ontario. The exhibition opened on June 12 with welcoming remarks by renowned activist, abolitionist, and author Robyn Maynard reflecting on the movement, resistance and a shared vision of liberated futures. It travelled to the Galerie du Nouvel-Ontario in August 2025 as part of Up Here 11.
